A summary of available scripts in the %gensys%\scripts-directory

cata_gp = Show contents of Gpdat-file
catas = Show contents of Mpdat-file a short list.
cataf = Show contents of MPdat-file complete list.
conv_ca = Convert the calculations *.ca file to MPdat-format.
fresp = Start of program FRESP, frequency-response analysis.
gplot = Start of program GPLOT, animation and plot of geometry.
quasi = Start of program QUASI, quasistatical analysis.
modal = Start of program MODAL, modal analysis.
mplot = Start of program MPLOT, post-processor to fresp,modal,quasi and tsim
npick = Start of program NPICK, interface to FEM-program.
predat = Start of program PREDAT, input data generator.
tsim = Start of program TSIM, time integration.
~dos = Script which starts a terminal window.
~edit = Script which opens a file for editing.
~pri = Script which sends file to printer for writing.

The following programs are available under the directory MISC:

ftrans = Starts the FTRANS-program.
func = Starts the FUNC-program.
plot_cur = Starts the PLOT_CUR-program.

The following programs are available under the directory KPF:

kpf = Starts KPF, creates wheel-rail geometry functions.
kpf_plot = Starts KPF_PLOT, plots wheel-rail geometry functions.
kpf_rot = Starts KPF_ROT, orientates wheel and rail data.
kpf_turn = Starts KPF_TURN, turns wheel and rail data.

The following programs are available under the directory TRACK:

concat = Concurrent storage of separate files into a track-file.
fourpl = Plotting of the Fourier spectra.
imauz = Convert from MAUZ-format to TRAC-format.
iplas = Convert from PLAS-format to TRAC-format.
ipsd = Convert from PSD-format to TRAC-format.
istat = Convert from STAT-format to TRAC-format.
mauz = Convert from TRAC-format to MAUZ-format.
mauzcur = Add together ideal curve geometry to Mauzin diagrams.
mauzmod = Scale and translate Mauzin diagrams.
mauzpl = Plotting of file in MAUZ-format.
mean = Calculation of the tracks' average gauge.
number = Program which reads a file and numbers the rows.
plas = Convert from TRAC-format to PLAS-format.
plascur = Add together ideal curve geometry to Plasser diagrams.
psdpl = Plotting of PSD-diagram.
statpl = Plotting of STAT-diagram.
traccur = Add together ideal curve geometry to track data.
tracmod = Scale and translate track data.
tracpl = Plotting of track data.
updown = Turn a track.


Below follows a detailed description of the scripts. The scripts are arranged in alphabetical order. When the script's argument is printed within brackets, this will mark that the argument is not necessary, but optional.


cata_gp arg

Performs the printing of the file content in a Gpdat-fil. As argument to cata_gp, give the name of the Gpdat-file to be printed. This is possible both with and without the extension '.gp' on the file name. The script creates and opens an ASCII-file with the extension '.list'.


cataf arg

Performs full dump of the file contents for files written in MPdat-format. As argument to cataf, give the name of the ident-file to be printed. The file name must have the extension '.id' or '.mp' to enable cataf to read the file. The script creates and opens an ASCII-file with the extension '.list'.


catas arg

Performs a restricted dump of the file contents for files written in MPdat-format. The script lists all information in the Mpdat-file except for the curves themselves. As argument to catas, give the name of the ident-file to be printed. The file name must have the extension '.id' or '.mp' to allow catas to read the file. The script creates and opens an ASCII-file with the extension '.list'.


conv_ca arg

Whilst performing calculations in CALC, a continuous printing of the results will be carried out on file using the name $ident.ca, so that all the results will be stored in case of an unexpected breakdown. This file must, however, be converted before it can be used in MPLOT, normally this will be done in the script FRESP, MODAL, QUASI or TSIM. However, when the script or calculation is interrupted, this conversion must be carried out manually, in which case this script shall be used. The argument to conv_ca is the file $ident.ca and the result will be $ident.id.


fresp [runf] [ident]

Starts a frequency-response analysis, by executing program CALC with CALC_TYPE=3. Input data file and ident can be given as arguments, if they are omitted the script FRESP will prompt for the arguments. 1) Runf Input data file describing the calculation model. The script will propose the same input data file as used in a previous calculation. 2) Ident Identification text which is to be used during this calculation activity.


ftrans (input data file)

Starts the FTRANS-program. The script asks for the input data file, the program is then executed.


func (input data file)

Starts the FUNC-program. The script asks for the input data file, the program is then executed.


gplot

Starts the GPLOT-program in ts-environment. The script does not ask any questions, the user comes directly to the command-prompt in program GPLOT.


modal [runf] [ident]

Starts a modal analysis, by executing program CALC with CALC_TYPE=2. Input data file and ident can be given as arguments, if they are omitted the script MODAL will prompt for the arguments. 1) Runf Input data file describing the calculation model. The script will propose the same input data file as used in a previous calculation. 2) Ident Identification text which is to be used during this calculation activity.


mplot (input data file) (ident)

Starts the MPLOT-program in batch, i.e. reads input data from a file. The script asks for input data file and ident, then the program is executed. If an input data file and ident is given as argument to the script, the execution will commence directly without questions. If the user has entered all the used idents in the input data file, an ident shall not be given to the script, therefore the user only shall answer "no" in the ident question.


npick (input data file)

Starts the execution of the program NPICK, which searches for eigenvalues and eigenvectors in a FEM-result file. The script only asks for input data file, then the program is executed. If the input data file is given as argument to the script, execution will be carried out directly.


plot_cur (input data file)

Starts the PLOT_CUR program. If the input data file is not given as argument to the script, the program will ask for the input data file. When the input data file has been read, the program's execution will commence.


predat (input data file)

Starts the PREDAT-program. The script asks for input data file and ident, the program is then executed. As input data file to the program PREDAT, the script searches for a file with extension *.pdatf, *.runf, *.frespf, *.modalf, *.quasif, or '.tsimf, but it is possible to use any file name. The output data file from program PREDAT is given the extension *.pdatr. If *.pdatr contains special commands which are linked to the modeling of railway vehicles, the substructures creep and trac_irr must be called. These rows are inserted by program cv_pdatr which the script predat calls. After program cv_pdatr, a result file with extension *.fodat is given which can be used in the calculations in the program CALC.


quasi (runf) (ident)

Starts a quasistatical analysis, by executing program CALC with CALC_TYPE=1. Input data file and ident can be given as arguments, if they are omitted the script QUASI will prompt for the arguments. 1) Runf Input data file describing the calculation model. The script will propose the same input data file as used in a previous calculation. 2) Ident Identification text which is to be used during this calculation activity.


tsim (runf) (ident)

Starts a simulation in the time domain, by executing program CALC with CALC_TYPE=4. Input data file and ident can be given as arguments, if they are omitted the script TSIM will prompt for the arguments. 1) Runf Input data file describing the calculation model. The script will propose the same input data file as used in a previous calculation. 2) Ident Identification text which is to be used during this calculation activity.


The KPF program group:

kpf, kpf_plot, kpf_rot, kpf_turn

Starts selected program. The script only asks for the input data file, the program is then executed. If the input data file is given as argument to the script, execution will commence directly.


The TRACK program group:

concat, fourpl, fourpl2, imauz, imauz_a, imauz_b, iplas, iplas_a, iplas_b, ipsd, istat, mauz, mauzcur,mauzmod, mauzpl, mean, plas, plascur, psdpl, statpl, tracmod, tracpl

Starts selected program. The script only asks for the input data file, the program is then executed. If the input data file is given as argument to the script, execution will commence directly.
