Gensys.1402

• The new release
• consists of the following parts:
  • Directory Mint15-gensys-1402
    Virtual machine with operating system mint15-mate with gensys-1402 preinstalled, stored in a format suitable for VirtualBox.
  • File gensys_homepage.tgz
    Contains the users manual incl tutorial examples.
  • File gensys_verif.tgz
    Contains verification examples and free vehicle models.
  • File gen_processor_ID_check
    The license file
  
  Install rel-1402 with the following steps:
  • Copy directory "Mint15-gensys-1402" to your "VirtualBox VMs"-directory.
    E.g. C:\Users\myname\VirtualBox VMs
  • In directory "Mint15-gensys-1402" double click file Mint15-gensys-1402.vbox
  • Update number of processors
  • Update the name of the shared folder. E.g. C:\Users\Public\gensys
    (If your never has been running gensys on your machine before, you must begin by creating directory C:\Users\Public\gensys with your host computer)
  • Check which key you have defined as "Host Key Combination". Default in VirtualBox it is the right Ctrl-key. Sometimes this can be a unpractical. A better alternative is to use Pause, ScrollLock, or any other rarely used key.
  • In your host move the other three files to directory C:\Users\Public\gensys
  • Start the virtual machine
  • Double click the "genterm"-icon.
  • Uncompress the tgz-files by writing:

     tar -xz -f gensys_homepage.tgz
     tar -xz -f gensys_verif.tgz
    

  • Move the executable license file by writing:

     sudo mv gen_processor_ID_check $gensys/bin
    

  • Double click the "genfile"-icon and go to directory "homepage/tutorial"
  • Make a copy of directory "intro_tutor_3_bobo_pe3" and test the new release
  • You own private projects you can store directly in the Shared Folder "gensys". Then they will be preserved and easily accessable the next time you update your virtual machine
  • (In this version of Mint15 the Super-key is used when moving and resizing windows)
• New and faster integrator heun_d
• Computation time for the tutorial example "runf/R600tirr.tsimf" was reduced from ~50s to ~32s.
• More and more arrays in the gensys programs use dynamic memory allocation
• Variable mass-matrix
• In the beginning of the runf-file, write:

• In file $gensys/calc/insert_files/save_axl1.ins
  Filter the Y- and Q-forces before saving on id-file.
• Command "func stop" exits program calc successfully. Command "func stop_error" exits program calc unsuccessfully.
• Use acute accents ` around formulas
• Example:

• In Mplot avoid using variable names containing "." because command "func opere" and "func operf" doesn't handle that.
• Considering street rails in Kpf (Released already in 1305)
• Program gen_processor_ID_check works mainly on dates nowadays. This means that this program must be updated every year.
